MarkLogic Server 3.0 System Requirements

This document lists the supported platforms, memory requirements, and disk space requirements to install MarkLogic Server.

Supported Platforms

MarkLogic Server is supported on the following platforms:

  • Microsoft Windows 2000 SP3, Microsoft Windows 2003 Server
  • Sun Solaris 8 and 9
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1 and 3.0 (32-bit x86)
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3.0 (64-bit AMD Opteron)

Memory and Disk Space Requirements

Before installing the software, be sure that your system meets the following minimum requirements:

  • 512 MB of system memory.

    • The first time MarkLogic Server runs, it automatically sizes itself to the amount of memory on the system.

  • Three times the disk space of the source content to be loaded.

    • For example, if you plan on loading 10 GB of content into the database, reserve at least 30 GB of disk space.
